It was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, written by Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio, stars Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, Bill Nighy, Jack Davenport, Jonathan Pryce, and Naomie Harris.

The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has provided some of the best entertainment. From the ghostly pirates to the errant pirate captain, “On Stranger Tides” is full of adventure. In this latest installment, Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) accidentally releases an undead pirate hunter (Brenton Thwaites) from his tomb, who then kidnaps a woman who possesses a mermaid’s tear.
Unbeknownst to Sparrow, this tear has value among a group of ancient hunters called The Order. When he learns that his former crewmates are hunting him, Sparrow sets out on another epic adventure to stop them in their quest for immortality.
5. Dead Men Tell No Tales
In “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” Captain Jack Sparrow finds himself in a race against time after he learns his nemesis, Captain Salazar, is after the Trident of Poseidon. Jack must find the Trident before Salazar does in order to prevent him from destroying every soul on the seas and getting revenge on Jack.
The legendary sword is also sought by Carina Smyth, an astronomer who is part of Captain Barbossa’s crew. She has taken it upon herself to save Jack from Salazar but may be equally interested in saving herself from being eaten by him. Their quest ultimately leads them to a location that may hold the key to finding Captain Jack Sparrow himself: a pirate who has been trapped in a nightmare for decades and must be convinced if he’s ever going to lift his curse.
